This course is designed for Business Continuity professionals, corporate communication personnel, and others responsible for developing and implementing a crisis communication plan within their organizations.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the key principles of crisis communication and how they relate to Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of the crisis communication team and how to integrate it with the crisis management team.
- Learn the steps involved in identifying interested parties and formulating and delivering effective messages.
- Understand how to engage with traditional and social media during a crisis.
- Apply the skills and techniques required to develop crisis communication protocols and plans.
This course is based on the BCI Good Practice Guidelines 7.0 Edition and reflects current global thinking from ISO 22301 and ISO 22361.
The course highlights the pivotal role of timely, clear, and coordinated communication in minimizing impact and maintaining stakeholder confidence. It also addresses common barriers that can hinder effective communication during high-pressure situations and equips participants with practical strategies to overcome these challenges.
By the end of the course, attendees will have a solid foundation in crisis communication principles and the practical tools needed to communicate with confidence and clarity when it matters most.
Course Accreditation
All students will receive an official Certificate of Attendance from the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). Completion of this course entitles delegates to 16 CPE/CPD credits.
Course Fees
The course fees include the BCI royalty fees as well as the learning materials.
The BCI uses data from the World Bank to determine its pricing structure. Course fees depend on the place of residency or company registration.
